about jackie mason

After injuring her shoulder and finding no relief from drugs, physical therapy, massage, chiropractic or acupuncture Jackie met a person taking a Feldenkrais Professional training. She saw the trainer and in one session her shoulder was greatly relieved and well on the way to full recovery. She signed up for a training immediately! Jackie graduated from a Feldenkrais Professional Training Program in 1994. Since then she has practiced in Sonoma County and in Nevada City, California - an hour east of Sacramento. She used the fundamental principles learned in her training to take the next leap forward helping people of all ages and conditions to become more functional faster. jackie masonHer unique approach has proven highly successful with people of any age or ability but her work is particularly useful for people recovering from neurological conditions such as stroke, cerebral palsy and more. She works with special needs children and uses the kinds of activities that they like to do to teach them new ways to move. Children respond amazingly to Jackie because she works with them based on their interests.

Jackie learned a lot about balanced movement from horseback riding. Riding is a difficult balance challenge because we must constantly adjust our balance on the horse while the horse's balance is changing. All this is going on with an animal programmed to flee from perceived danger! Jackie conducts workshops and clinics to help horse riders learn to move with their horse in balance instead of blocking them. People find their horse becomes very soft in the back and in the bit when they are no longer in conflict.

Jackie has direct experience with many activities such as skiing, running, biking, hiking, skating, tennis, swimming, weightlifting and golf which enables her to help athletes to optimize their technique for fewer injuries and better performance.
